The Hunt

John Taggart, Guide, Son of PatWe offer guided hunts with guides who know the area and understand pheasant hunting.

Andrew Taggart, Future Guide, Son of PatThe hunt is the most important part of the trip and the days schedule is all set around "The Hunt."  At Pat Taggart Hunting the planning for your hunt has begun before your arrival (or for that matter, before the previous season is over).  Pat continuously is improving the habitat and grooming the land to maximize bird cover and capacity.

After a hearty home-cooked breakfast that will keep you going until lunch, and a brief hunting safety review, we provide transportation to the fields.  Our hunts are very organized and at a leisurely pace.

After a few hours in the field you will have worked up an appetite for a great lunch.  If you have reached your limit by this time, you are able to have a cocktail or see the sites of the area.  If you still have hunting to do, the guides will take you out until the job is done.  Social hour is held in the main lodge before a dinner that is fit for a king.   We rarely fall short of shooting a limit for the day and will guarantee that you will have plenty of shooting opportunities!

After all is done in the fields, you will not have to worry about the details of cleaning and freezing your birds.  We have arranged for all your birds to be cleaned and frozen until the end of your trip.  At this time, we will pack them in a cooler for your trip home.                                                                                                                                      image
